Lamborghini Concept S
The Lamborghini
Concept S was first unveiled at the 2005 Geneva Motor Show in
Switzerland. Featuring the Italian automakers most aggressive styling
to date, the Lamborghini Concept S is based on the Gallardo and
harkens back to the single seat roadsters of old.
The Lamborghini
Concept S was designed by Luc Donckerwolke, Head of Lamborghini
Design at the Centro Stile Lamborghini in Sant'Agata Bolognese.
The House of the Raging Bull is leading the running of the bulls
with this aggressive new design that separates driver from passenger
more than most other vehicles and contains no windshield, only a
'saute-vent' (French for 'changing wind') to direct air over the
heads of driver and passenger.
The Lamborghini
Concept S contains a 500 hp, 5.0 Liter V-10 engine with 510 Nm of
torque. The Concept S is an all-wheel-drive mid-engine vehicle with
6-speed manual transmission. Even though this "split-design"
may make conversations between driver and passenger more difficult,
it does allow for an optional air scoop to further cool the powerful
engine and also makes available a rear view mirror that pops up
automatically to check for traffic behind (or police).
The interior
of the car boasts streamlined headrests, asymmetrical leather cladding
and separate color scheme for driver side and passenger side, accentuating
the "pilot" experience for the Concept S drivers. Unlike
most concept cars that never see
the light of a showroom floor, Lamborghini has stated that a production
version of the Concept S will be available sometime in 2007.
