With a cool price tag of around $800,000, the Maserati MC12 touts a 6.0 liter V-12 engine that is basically the same as that in the Ferrari Enzo. The Maserati MC12's engine generates 630 hp and 657 Nm of torque.

Maserati has called the MC12 a grand tourer designed for long-distance driving. And, because of the luxurious and comfortable interior one can see their point. But, the Maserati MC12 is a heavy-duty, street legal racecar as well as one can tell by only a cursor look at this bad-ass design.

Critics have stated that the car is too large, there is no place to put the targa roof and the vehicle comes with no radio or stereo system. But, what the Maserati MC12 lacks in the incidentals it makes up for in raw power and passion.

In 2004 - 2005, only 50 Maserati MC12's were produced, making this one of the rarest of production exotic cars in recent years and one of the most sought after as well. After Maserati dropped out of racing for the past 37 years, the MC12 supercar has been Maserati's prominent symbol that they are making a comeback.

In fact, the Maserati MC12 GT1 won the 2005 FIA GT Manufacturers Cup. Because of this, Maserati announced the limited production of the MC12 Corsa, a $1.7 million, track-only supercar for a select number of clients. With the MC12, Maserati is sure to recapture much of its old clientele and develop a few new high-profile supercar enthusiasts as well.
